The Cherokee tribe survived by harvesting crops of corn, beans, squash and sunflowers. They would also gather berries, nuts and fruit, they would eat what ever was available to them. Cherokee men would also hunt, they would hunt deer, wild turkeys, and fish. The cherokee people would make different types of dishes, such as cornbread,soups and stews.
The cherokees had then began to trade with the new settlers, the British, Charleston, and South Carolina. The exchanged many things such as tools, weapons, food and other manufactured goods for deer skins. The English trade gradually changed the cherokee culture.
